Unsung Seafood

Thank you to everyone who joined us in October 2024 to celebrate Unsung Seafood.
While October is over for another year, you’ll always find a celebration of unsung seafood on our menus as we continue to champion wonderful seafood.

During October we invite you to discover a new side to seafood. Jack Stein, our Chef Director and Jason, our Head of Food, have been in the test kitchen to perfect new dishes that champion unsung seafood in dishes you know and love. From Bolognese to spring rolls, look forward to experiencing new fish and shellfish in comforting, familiar favourites.

The exciting part about unsung seafood is we don’t always know what’s being landed by the fishermen, so expect changing specials to try across our menus.

“We’re celebrating unsung seafood. So often we’re creatures of habit, and stick to eating cod, haddock, salmon, tuna and prawns – but there are lots of other species that I think we should be enjoying more often. Things like cuttlefish, cockles, whelks, megrim sole and razor clams, each caught and landed around the British coast, and when cooked in the right way are brilliant alternatives to the popular choices.

Wednesday 23rd October

Join us for an intimate dinner by the Thames in Barnes that’s all about discovering unsung seafood. Hosted by Jack Stein and Cornish fisherman, Danny Phillips, look forward to plenty of stories from their lifetimes in the trade, giving you a glimpse into the weird and wonderful Cornish catch whilst you try Jack’s creations on the menu.

There’s something quick and comforting for cosy mid-week suppers, the perfect sharing dish for a gathering and some very nice fried shellfish bites.

Join Jack and our Head of Food Jason to discover the special dishes they’ve come up with to celebrate unsung fish and shellfish. They’ll be taking the dishes onto the streets of Padstow to surprise the general public with well-known, comforting dishes like spring rolls, satay and Bolognese – each with a new twist. Watch on Instagram and TikTok throughout October.
