The Seafood Restaurant’s 50th Anniversary Purple Tiger Beer

As part of our our 50th anniversary celebrations at The Seafood Restaurant, we’re excited to introduce you to a limited-edition beer in collaboration with Harbour Brewing named after Rick’s original mobile disco, which eventually became The Seafood Restaurant, the Purple Tiger. Try it whilst you can at The Seafood Restaurant and in Sandbanks (book a table here) or grab a bottle from our deli in Padstow to pour at home.
The artwork on the beer is a reimagining of the psychedelic tiger that featured on Rick’s speaker covers back in the late 60s and early 70s as well as during our ‘Supper Club’ at The Seafood Restaurant a few months ago. The Purple Tiger design has been pulled into 2025 by artist Freya Hill who works in our marketing team – taking inspiration from the original artwork that’s now framed and hangs in Rick’s living room in Padstow.

Our Cornish friends at Harbour Brewing welcomed Charlie Stein and some of our team along to create the beer which is a light, fresh wheat beer, brewed with coriander, coconut and orange peel. It has been made with authentic German wheat beer yeast, using traditional European wheats including Torrified wheat and Pilsen malts – which have a natural sweetness to them.
The style of beer and flavours chosen by Rob, Head Brewer at Harbour, complement our classic seafood dishes, especially Indonesian Seafood Curry. A must experience if you’re dining with us this year.
