To celebrate the 50th year of The Seafood Restaurant, we’ve partnered with Designers Guild to reimagine one of our cosy shepherd’s huts, blending coastal charm with the distinctive colour and texture of the luxury lifestyle brand. This collaboration celebrates our 50th year in hospitality alongside 55 years of Designers Guild.
Rick Stein x Designers Guild Shepherd’s Hut
Nestled in the private grounds of The Cornish Arms in St Merryn, near Padstow, our redesigned shepherd’s hut offers a peaceful countryside escape. Thoughtfully transformed by Jill Stein OBE and Tricia Guild OBE, this space combines stylish design with functionality. The hut includes a comfortable living area, kitchenette, double bed, and ensuite shower room, all finished with Designers Guild’s signature fabrics and paints.

Inside, the space is dressed in Designers Guild’s Rose de Damas linen fabric, featuring hand-painted roses, geometric foliage, and marbled velvets. Upholstered furniture and soft bouclé textures enhance the cosy and elevated atmosphere. The comfortable double bed is layered with 200-thread count linen in Foret Impressionniste, and you’ll find a variety of accessories that bring it all together.
The Designers Guild’s Retro Jade and Trailing Willow paints create a light and welcoming ambience, while your hut’s exterior is finished in their signature standout Emerald green.
Al Fresco Living
Outside, you’ll enjoy a patio space furnished with Designers Guild cushions, rugs, and accessories. It’s the perfect spot for al fresco dining in the sunshine or relaxing under the Cornish sky. Every detail has been considered to ensure the patio is as inviting as the hut itself.
