Taste and Create at The Cornish Arms

Is there anything more festive than enjoying cheese and wine while making a Christmas wreath with friends?

Christmas wreath workshop

6pm to 9pm, Thursday 30th November

Join us at The Cornish Arms in St Merryn and get in the festive spirit with friends. We invite you to spend an afternoon creating your own Christmas wreath under the guidance of Home Nansledan’s master florists. Before taking your wreath home, revel in your creativity and embrace the yuletide spirit with a wine and cheese supper.

£60

Tickets include:

  • A masterclass on wreath making with Home Nansledan.
  • All materials including fresh Cornish grown foliage, dried fruits, winter scented pinecones and a choice of ribbons.
  • A supper of baked Camembert, new potatoes, Coombeshead sourdough and cornichons.
  • A glass of Rick Stein’s red or white wine to enjoy with your supper.

CHRISTMAS WREATHS

Traditionally made from offcuts of pruned Christmas trees and woven into wreaths, these sustainable decorations are now considered as essential festive décor. Our masterclass is perfectly timed so your wreath is ready to be hung proudly on the first Sunday of advent, the 3rd December.

CHEESE AND WINE

During your masterclass you’ll enjoy a 125ml glass of Rick Stein’s deliciously juicy Spanish red, or fresh and fragrant Spanish white. Once you’re satisfied with your festive wreath and you’ve worked up an appetite, relax with warm baked Camembert and plenty of new potatoes, Coombeshead sourdough and crunchy cornichons.

HOME NANSLEDAN

Master florists who cater for all occasions, Home Nansledan offers everything from small bunches to larger bouquets, arrangements, masterclasses and weddings. Plus they stock beautiful homewares and offer a personalised interior design service.

“The lead up to Christmas is full of gatherings, seeing the lights around Padstow harbour turn on for Christmas makes me look forward to sharing lively dark winter evenings together. But most of all, this time of year should be about enjoying the atmosphere and indulging in something that makes you happy.”

The Cornish Arms, St Merryn

The Cornish Arms is a local village pub with good real ales from St Austell Brewery and a simple, classic pub menu where everyone is welcome.

Cosy up by the fire after a bracing coastal walk to enjoy a glorious Sunday roast cooked by Head Chef Ash and team. Cornish beef with all the trimmings will be the hero on the menu, of course. You just need to choose between a glass of decent red or a pint of your favourite St Austell Brewery ale to complete a very pleasing few hours with friends and family.
