Spring by the Sea 1

Spring dining at our Rick Stein restaurants, from Padstow in Cornwall to Sandbanks, Winchester and Barnes, means fresh seafood, seasonal dishes and time well spent by the coast and beyond. The season brings longer days, lighter menus and the very best of British produce. In Cornwall, spring arrives early, gardens begin to wake, wild garlic lines the estuary paths and the first asparagus appears from nearby farms. Out at sea, fishermen land the early spring catch, from line-caught cod to sweet scallops and crab at their best. Explore our restaurants and book your spring table.

Spring Dining – Excuses to visit

Across our restaurants you’ll find spring dishes that make the most of the season’s ingredients. Expect seafood platters piled high with shellfish, freshly grilled fish with simple sauces and comforting classics from our fish and chips menu.

Every kitchen adds its own touches, so each visit offers something slightly different.

What we’re cooking this spring

Spring is one of the most exciting times in our kitchens. New growth ingredients and fresh flavours for the season.

You’ll see the first asparagus appearing alongside grilled fish and perfectly poached eggs, and handfuls of wild garlic worked into sauces and butters.

Our chefs cook with what the season brings, keeping things simple and letting great ingredients speak for themselves.

Seasonal Cornish fish at home

“I love this time of year, spring brings an abundance of produce from the sea. Crab, John Dory, red mullet, turbot and my personal favourite, mackerel.” – Pete Murt, Head Chef, The Seafood Restaurant.
