January blues: Take time for yourself

There are plenty of ways to beat those January blues, especially if you’re lucky enough to live in Cornwall and are surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and panoramic sea views. Take some time for yourself to re-energise and explore some of the beautiful places your local area has to offer. Here are some of our favorite places in Cornwall to go on solo adventures:

1. Kynance Cove

Situated in the Lizard peninsular, you’ll find jagged coastline, clear waters and plenty of photography opportunities here. By day it’s a Cornish paradise that is amazing to explore, and by dusk (on the right day) you’ll get sunsets a bit a like this…

2. Trevone Bay

Sandwiched between the cliffs and Rocky Beach, Trevone Bay is the perfect little spot to relax and while away a lazy afternoon. Take a book and flask, watch the surfers in the waves and take in the beautiful surroundings the bay has on offer. Afterwards, pop into The Cornish Arms for a light lunch and a pint beside the fire to top off your afternoon perfectly.

3. Pendennis Point

If you’re visiting the Falmouth area – or even if you’re based there – make sure you take a trip up to Pendennis Point for some awesome panoramic views across to Falmouth and beyond. It’s a great place to park up and explore the castle ruins, and there’s occasionally an ice cream van around too…

4. The Camel Estuary

The winding estuary carving through the North Cornwall countryside offers plenty of spots for solo expeditions. Whether you park up and walk along the Camel trail or decide to go off-piste, you’re sure to find the breath taking views and the calming tranquility that this area has to offer. If you find yourself in need of a pit stop, make sure you stop by Rick Stein’s Café for a slice of cake and a coffee.
