Meet Luca, Restaurant Manager at Rick Stein, Barnes

Luca has worked with us since June 2023 leading the team in Barnes as Restaurant Manager.

Luca grew up on the island of Ischia, just off the coast of Naples, Italy. He then studied Business Administration at Parthenope University in Naples, graduating in 2007, and a year later took the big step of leaving his home country after 30 years to move to London.

It was at that time when he joined our beloved industry and fell in love with it – making people smile with great food and drink. He says “You get to meet people at the best time of their day, it’s a wonderful job.”

Before joining us in Barnes, Luca worked in a range of different hospitality roles – gaining experience and knowledge in restaurant managerial roles for Carluccio’s, Ping Pong, Le Garrick and most recently, Chucs in Notting Hill.

When dining in our restaurants, Luca particularly enjoys pan-fried hake with mussels and saffron sauce paired with a glass of Rick Stein White Burgundy. He’s also fond of a glass of Champagne to accompany his seafood supper.

Outside of work, Luca is a passionate football fan, supporting his home team SSC Napoli. He also enjoys sailing and fishing, especially catching large tuna.
