Charity Lunches are back at Marlborough
Meet the Charity – The Jubilee Centre
After great success in previous years, we are bringing back our charity lunches to support fantastic charities across Cornwall and the south of England. Last year we raised over £10,000 for our selected charities and this year we hope to surpass that.
At Marlborough this year, we are supporting The Jubilee Centre, a local charity that supports the senior citizens of the Kennet District. They provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for people who are over sixty, allowing them to maintain their independence with respect to their individual needs.
The centre which is ran by an excellent group of volunteers offers a wide range of activities and catering services, both at the centre and on wheels, transporting hot meals to those who can’t reach the centre. The centre also has plenty of visitors which perform musical hits or play instruments and people who offer vital services such as house safety and armchair mobility exercises.
2nd January – 29th January | £19.95 plus £2.50
How your donation could help
Unfortunately, with costs increasing the attendees of the centre contribute towards transport and their meals. Here are how your donations could help:
- £5 would enable the attendees to not have to contribute anymore
- £50 would mean that 10 people would be able to attend one a day week without paying a penny more.
At the restaurant, from Tuesday 2nd January to Tuesday 29th January we will be giving the option to our customers to dine from our charity lunch menu, a 3-course set menu for £19.95 plus a £2.50 donation. Last year, our charity lunches were a huge success and we raised over £10,000 for our selected charities. This year, we’re making it our effort to beat that.
Our charity lunches are running for twice as long this year, with the menu changing halfway through, book today to enjoy dishes such as smoked mackerel pâté with sourdough, hake, mussel and tomato stew and lemon posset. Both menus can be viewed here.
Book today and support a great cause.
