One-Day Signature Dishes from The Seafood Restaurant
Opened by Rick and Jill back in 1975, The Seafood Restaurant is famous for establishing an international reputation for the very freshest fish and shellfish. We’ll show you how to cook dishes that have become synonymous with the restaurant, new and old. Now’s your chance to discover how to recreate them at home.
- Chargrilled whole Dover sole with sea salt and lime
- Indonesian seafood curry
- Fillets of bass with vanilla butter vinaigrette
- Singapore chilli crab
- DEMO – Sashimi of salmon, tuna, sea bass and scallops
- Preparing and chargrilling a whole flat fish
- Preparing squid
- De-veining, peeling and cooking prawns
- Filleting a round fish
- Making a spice paste
- Humanely killing, cooking and stir-frying a crab
- Preparing a selection of fish to be eaten raw
Arrive – 8:45am
Welcome – Enjoy a tea or coffee while browsing the recipes for the day and meeting your fellow chefs
From 9am – Watch our chefs demo three dishes then recreate each dish in pairs at your workstation enjoying the fruits of your labour
Lunch – At our long ‘en famille’ dining table overlooking the Camel Estuary with a glass of wine or two
Afternoon demo – Time to relax with a glass of wine and watch our chef demonstrate the final dish of the day
4pm – Finish. You will be presented with a Rick Stein’s Cookery School certificate and recipe folder plus a chance to browse our shop with an exclusive voucher.
