Jack and Charlie’s Wine Dinners

This autumn, join Jack and Charlie for a series of special Wine Dinners celebrating the forgotten fish of our shores.
Across four intimate evenings, Jack has created a five-course menu showcasing some of Britain’s most under-appreciated seafood. From salt pouting and gurnard to spider crab and megrim sole, each course shines a light on species that are often overlooked, transforming them into dishes that celebrate flavour, seasonality and the very best of British seafood.
To complement the menu, Charlie has selected a collection of beautifully expressive wines that follow the same spirit of discovery. Alongside a classic Rully from Burgundy, you’ll enjoy wines made from lesser-known grape varieties and regions, each chosen to pair perfectly with the food while introducing something a little different to the glass.
Your evening begins with a glass of Raventós i Blanc Blanc de Blancs before five courses are served with carefully matched wines, including Txakoli, Godello, Verdicchio and Moscato d’Asti. Throughout the evening, Jack and Charlie will share the stories behind the menu, the wines and the inspiration for this year’s theme.

Charlie and Jack

Charlie is enthusiastic about creating extraordinary dining experiences with excellent wine.
Charlie is a familiar face on television, with appearances on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, and co-hosting Wine, Dine and Stein with brother Jack. Charlie regularly hosts masterclasses, wine dinners and can often be found pottering around one of our restaurants, checking in with customers. As Director across all of our restaurants, Charlie is responsible for each of our wine lists and our successful online wine shop. Every bottle is chosen by Charlie, utilising his connections made during his travels to bring the very best wines to our customers.

For Jack, it’s all about the food – working with suppliers to create the best menus possible for our restaurants.
Jack kicked off his career working as a kitchen porter during the school holidays, and at 16 tried his hand at front of house, working as a waiter throughout the remainder of his professional education. His heart was set on cooking though, and he re-entered the family business after working as a chef at restaurants across the world, including La Régalade in Paris, before extensive travels to Australia, the Far East and Japan. Jack has been Chef Director of our restaurants since 2017, overseeing every menu.
