The Cornish Arms is a proper pub loved by locals and holidaymakers alike with great beer on tap from St Austell Brewery and homely pub classics on the menu – cooked by Head Chef Ashley and our kitchen team. Front of House Roles
Waiters/Waitresses
Waiters and waitresses are warm, friendly and welcoming. Your interaction with our guests can be make or break a business so we’ll always equip you with tools to be the best waiter or waitress you can. Our front of house team take orders, serve food and drinks, chat to guests and make recommendations.
What do I get paid?
You’ll be paid a starting wage of £11.44 per hour (£10.30 for under 18s), plus weekly tips.
Senior Waiters/Waitresses
Senior waiters and waitresses are warm, friendly and welcoming. You’ll be taking orders, serving food and drinks, chatting to guests and making recommendations. Senior waiters and waitresses will be championing our standards and family values and are the bridge between our waiters/waitresses and restaurant supervisors.
What do I get paid?
You’ll be paid a starting wage of £11.60 per hour, plus weekly tips.
Restaurant Supervisors
Warm, friendly and experienced restaurant supervisors lead waiters, waitress and bar staff as well as supporting their manager with all things hospitality. Supervisor roles are great next step for senior waiters and waitresses and prepare you for development to restaurant manager.
What do I get paid?
You’ll be paid a starting wage of £12 per hour, plus weekly tips.
Chef and Kitchen Roles
Kitchen Porters
We are looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Porters to join our friendly kitchen teams. Under the guidance of our head chef, you’ll be the backbone of the kitchen, supporting the kitchen team so that they have everything they need to create memorable experiences for our guests.

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £11.44 per hour, plus weekly tips.
Commis Chefs
Experience is not necessary as we will provide all the tools and training you will need, you’ll just need a willingness to learn and a passion for cooking great food. You’ll be joining our talented kitchen brigade and working with the very best, locally sourced ingredients.

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £11.44 per hour, plus weekly tips.
Chef de Parties
Chef de Parties are enthusiastic and passionate chefs who can develop their careers within our kitchens. They are a crucial part of the kitchen team, leading a section during service, developing and inspiring the junior kitchen team members, whilst supporting your Head Chef to ensure that their dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests.
You will have the opportunity to experience each section and gain knowledge of the entire service.
What do I get paid?
You’ll be paid a starting wage of £11.60 per hour, plus weekly tips.
Sous Chefs
Our second in command, Sous Chefs, are a crucial part of the site management team, leading, developing and inspiring the wider kitchen team, whilst supporting your Head Chef to ensure that Rick’s dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests.
The sous chef fills in for the head chef when they’re on a day off, helping them to gain experience and progress into a head chef role.
What do I get paid?
You’ll be paid a starting salary of £31,000, plus weekly tips.
