A sparkling success at Polgoon Vineyard
30.10.2013
Fish merchants by trade, Kim and John gave up their day jobs to try their hand at farming. Little did they know at the time, that 6 years down the line they would be winning national awards for their wines, ciders and sparkling wines.
It was back in 2002 when the Coulson’s bought a derelict farmhouse, just outside of Penzance, to accommodate their ever expanding family. To achieve their dream, they knew they would have to start working the land a little, but when they were faced with looking after 23 acres, they were more than a little overwhelmed.
It was then that they put a call into local wine hero, Bob Lindo of the award winning Camel Valley to see if it would be viable to create their own vineyard. And here it began. Right from their first wine harvest in 2006, they created an award winning wine and the accolades haven’t stopped since!
