Rick Stein partnership with Cornish artist
25.05.2017
We’ve joined forces with Newlyn based artist, Andy Bibbings, to produce a Rick Stein range of Cornwall inspired homeware and kitchen textiles, after Jill Stein noticed Andy’s amazing attention to detail and use of colour. The collection includes bone china mugs, bowls, coasters, trays, aprons, oven gloves and tea towels, which feature watercolours of mackerel, lobster, prawn and John Dory. Available both online and in Padstow at Stein’s Deli and Gift Shop.
Andy, known as the animal artist, spent 26 years in the police before deciding to move from Bristol to Newlyn, home to one of the UKs largest fishing fleets, to pursue his love of art. We can’t think of a better place to gather fish and shellfish inspiration. Except maybe Padstow… The paintings are created at his home studio where Andy lives with his wife Sarah, and their two rescue dogs – when not painting Andy can often be seen walking the coastline looking for seals and dolphins. He strives to capture vibrant colour and detail in his paintings, using a bold but fine detail technique and he is enjoying his new found love of sealife and marine species.
