Jack and Charlie’s Wine Dinners

This autumn, Jack and Charlie Stein take to the road, hosting a special series of their annual Wine Dinners to mark 50 years of The Seafood Restaurant. From Padstow to London, the sibling duo will bring their signature blend of hospitality, expertise and wit, to an evening that celebrates five decades of food and wine.
With years spent working alongside the world’s best chefs and winemakers, Jack and Charlie know exactly what makes a truly memorable dining experience. These events promise generous spirit, personal stories and a few insider secrets from life behind the pass, all served with a perfectly matched glass of wine.
Each dinner will feature a five-course menu, with dishes spanning the decades in Padstow, from enduring classics to more recent favourites, the menu reflects the evolution of a restaurant that helped shape Britain’s love of seafood. Every course will be paired with a wine that has stood the test of time on The Seafood Restaurant’s list, including favourites such as Planeta Chardonnay, Sancerre from Loire and Quinta de la Rosa Port.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Rick Stein Blanc de Blancs, poured from the newly designed 50th anniversary bottle created by Kate Stein. Signed copies of the commemorative cookbook will also be available to purchase on the night.
With Jack and Charlie Stein hosting each event, expect a heartfelt celebration of a family restaurant that’s grown into something beloved by many. Join the brothers as they raise a glass to the last 50 years, what their parents have built and to all the good things still to come.

Charlie and Jack

Charlie is enthusiastic about creating extraordinary dining experiences with excellent wine.
Charlie is a familiar face on television, with appearances on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, and co-hosting Wine, Dine and Stein with brother Jack. Charlie regularly hosts masterclasses, wine dinners and can often be found pottering around one of our restaurants, checking in with customers. As Director across all of our restaurants, Charlie is responsible for each of our wine lists and our successful online wine shop. Every bottle is chosen by Charlie, utilising his connections made during his travels to bring the very best wines to our customers.

For Jack, it’s all about the food – working with suppliers to create the best menus possible for our restaurants.
Jack kicked off his career working as a kitchen porter during the school holidays, and at 16 tried his hand at front of house, working as a waiter throughout the remainder of his professional education. His heart was set on cooking though, and he re-entered the family business after working as a chef at restaurants across the world, including La Régalade in Paris, before extensive travels to Australia, the Far East and Japan. Jack has been Chef Director of our restaurants since 2017, overseeing every menu.
