Fundraising Through Food
Stein’s 2023 / 2024 Charity Lunches
Since opening The Seafood Restaurant doors in 1975, we’ve been committed to the concept of charity lunches. While the format has evolved over the years, the sentiment remains unchanged: providing great value lunch menus to support local charities. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting charity lunches at six of our restaurants, raising over £15,000 to support vital local causes. We’re immensely grateful to everyone who joined us, making a difference one meal at a time.
Totals Raised
Over the winter months of 2023 and 2024 each site offered a special three-course menu with added donation to our team’s chosen local charities. The results were remarkable:
- The Seafood Restaurant: £10,745 raised for Cornwall Hospice Care
- St Petroc’s Bistro: £1,650 raised for St Petrocs
- Winchester: £1,000 donated to Home Start Winchester
- Marlborough: £400 raised for Marlborough Jubilee Centre
- Barnes: £865 donated to SPEAR London
- Sandbanks: £1,315 raised for Ashley’s Birthday Bank
Total: £15,975
The Menus
The atmosphere during our charity lunches is always heart-warming. It’s a time when people come together, not only to enjoy Rick’s dishes but also to donate to causes that support our local communities.
Our charity lunches always feature a selection of Rick’s favourite dishes, some of which may not always be available on our menu. It’s an opportunity to enjoy something new while supporting a great cause.
Central to our menus are the ingredients sourced from dedicated local suppliers who consistently provide us with the finest produce. From Philip Warren butchers in Launceston to Matthew Stevens fishmonger in St Ives, and Ross and his team at Padstow Kitchen Garden, we rely on these unsung heroes to bring the freshest ingredients to our tables.
As we look ahead, we’re excited about the upcoming charity lunches in autumn and winter 2024 / 2025. Sign up for our email newsletter to be the first in the know and join us in supporting local causes through the joy of food.
