Seafood restaurant in the heart of Hampshire
Back in 2014 our seafood restaurant on the high street in Winchester was our first to open outside of Cornwall. It brings touches of our heritage from the far southwest to Hampshire with Cornish catch delivered daily that Head Chef Chris and our team cook simply to tried and tested recipes. Firm favourites include shellfish ragoût, the attention-grabbing fruits de mer platter and a classic from The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, turbot hollandaise.
Being on the Winchester high street we’re open for morning coffee until late, so you can stop by whenever you please for something light, a full three course seafood experience or simply a cocktail in the bar if that’s what your day requires.
SUMMER OF SHELLFISH
Since 1975, our restaurants have celebrated a selection of fresh shellfish from British shores. From prized catch landed in Cornwall like lobster and crab to nostalgic seaside favourites like cockles and whelks. We believe that quality comes first, which is why this summer we’re celebrating shellfish, the local fishermen and the skills of our expert chefs. Here’s what dishes you can find at Winchester:
- Cockles poulette sauce with Hoxton sourdough
- Crab and Gruyère tart with mixed leaf salad
- Grilled Cornish lobster with fines herbes, thin cut chips and salad

Origin Coffee: We work with Tom and the team at Origin Coffee and we’re always impressed by their unrivalled knowledge and enthusiasm for great quality coffee. Based down in the west of Cornwall, they are independently owned and bound by one central ethos – to source exceptional coffee through a sustainable approach.
Origin’s speciality coffee is made using only the top 20% of beans in the world, ensuring the very best of flavour.
Our baristas are trained to do each cup of Origin’s coffee justice, using water pressure at 9 bars and 94°C and gravity fed filter coffee. It takes 30 – 50 of the finest coffee beans to make one espresso, and we complement those mighty beans with full fat, high protein milk for a smooth full flavour. Other milk options are available, we recommend oat milk as the best alternative.
THE WINCHESTER PUDDING
Rick has created this dish based on a 1906 recipe, a steamed sponge pudding flavoured with mixed spice, orange, currants and sultanas. Grand Marnier, butterscotch sauce and Cornish clotted cream. £8.95
A 50p donation from each Winchester pudding is donated to Winchester Radio 94.7FM, a volunteer-led, community-driven, dementia-friendly charity dedicated to supporting the older generation, taking an holistic approach to positive ageing, reducing loneliness, and improving health, especially amongst the socially-isolated and digitally excluded. Their 24/7/365 service helps keep listeners connected to their community – providing local news, promoting local events and grassroots activities, and signposting people to support services.
A 50p donation from sale of each Winchester pudding is given to Winchester Radio.
Make sure you save space for dessert next time you dine with us.
