The Seafood Restaurant’s 50th Anniversary Supper ‘Club’

Did you know Rick and Jill ran The Seafood Restaurant as nightclub in its former life? During 1974 you would have been more likely to see Rick behind the DJ decks, named after his mobile disco ‘The Purple Tiger’, than a stove. Alas, the nightclub didn’t last long and The Seafood Restaurant emerged in 1975.

To celebrate the iconic building on the quay’s life, past and present, Jill, Rick, Charlie, Jack and Ed are hosting a one night only Supper ‘Club’ party on 28th February – including five courses of seafood classics and Rick’s return to the decks!

It’s amazing to think that The Seafood Restaurant has been open for 50 years. This is a pretty big deal as far as restaurants are concerned and there are going to be lots of celebrations throughout 2025. Including me, returning to my roots as a DJ – back on the Purple Tiger decks for one night only.

The Supper ‘Club’

This one-off event calls for the very best seafood and so, Rick and Jack have chosen the following for guests to experience whilst marking 50 years of The Seafood Restaurant. Each course will be paired with a wine from Charlie, which can be purchased on the night, plus complimentary Champagne on arrival.

Tickets are very limited for The Seafood Restaurant’s Supper Club and are only available via a ballot which is open until 19th January.

All those who’ve registered will be put into a hat for a chance to buy two tickets for the supper club, and the lucky guests will be contacted with a booking link by email on 20th January.

You’ll have 48 hours to confirm your places for this special seafood party.


The Seafood Restaurant

The Seafood Restaurant, our flagship in Padstow, was founded by Rick and Jill Stein in 1975. Now 50 years on, it continues to celebrate fresh, quality fish and shellfish, simply cooked. Head Chef Pete Murt leads the team, serving classic dishes like lobster thermidor and Indonesian seafood curry, while showcasing local, sustainable seafood.

In 2024, the restaurant earned the AA Food Service Award for outstanding service and hospitality. Guests can enjoy a relaxed dining experience at the seafood bar, watching chefs at work and interacting with staff. Our wine list, curated by Charlie Stein, and cocktails crafted by award-winning barman Norbert complete the experience.
