Meet Jason, Head of Food at Rick Stein
Jason joined the team in May 2024 as our new Head of Food. He oversees all aspects of menu development across our restaurants, working closely with Jack and the head chefs.
Born and raised in Manchester, Jason moved to Hamburg in Germany when he was 17 to develop his cookery skills. It all began when he was growing up and he wasn’t the biggest fan of his mother’s cooked liver and onions. This made him want to learn how to cook it better.
Jason joined us with a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, having previously worked at The Gordon Ramsay Group as a Senior Sous Chef, Russell Norman’s Polpo as Group Executive Chef and most recently, Operations Director for Gino D’Acampo’s restaurants for the past 6 years. He’s also worked in a range of other restaurants, plus 5-star hotels in the UK and the middle east throughout his career.
When dining at our restaurants, Jason’s favourite dish is blonde ray with beurre noisette (when it’s on the menu) and of course, fish and chips. Outside of work, he has 3 young children and loves to spend time with his family exploring their new home in Cornwall, enjoying the beaches and always getting ice cream.
