Our flagship seafood restaurant near Padstow Harbour

This year, we’re celebrating 50 years since Rick and Jill first opened the doors of our flagship in Padstow, The Seafood Restaurant. A five decade obsession for fresh fish, simply cooked and giving our guests the most memorable dining experiences. Head Chef, Pete Murt, leads the way now, with his team perfectly recreating Rick’s recipes time and time again for guests to enjoy – including lobster thermidor, turbot hollandaise and Indonesian seafood curry.

In 2024, The Seafood Restaurant was awarded the AA Food Service Award for its excellent standards of restaurant services and hospitality. The awards praised our restaurant for the way it “evokes such a positive feeling and sense of place” and our exceptional front of house team for their sparkling hospitality, applauding them as ‘relentless ambassadors for the food and local area”.

Our Menu

Our menu, guided by the seasons, showcases the best of local and sustainable seafood. Look forward to classic dishes, from our famous Dover sole to seasonal creations that highlight the best of Cornish produce.

The Seafood Bar

At the heart of our restaurant is the seafood bar, where people watchers and real food enthusiasts gather. Here, you can enjoy a relaxed chef’s table experience, choosing from our menu while watching our team shuck oysters and pour drinks. It’s the perfect spot to learn more about our seafood and interact with our knowledgeable staff.

To Drink

Our extensive wine list, with each bottle chosen (and tasted) by Charlie Stein has something for everyone and every occasion, and behind the bar you’ll find our celebrated barman, Norbert, who has won various mixology competitions including Axia Spirit and Nc’nean organic whisky. Trying one of his cocktails is a must before or after your meal.

Taste of 50 Years Menu

In honour of our 50th anniversary, Rick and Jack have brought together a special four-course Taste of 50 Years menu that celebrates the very best dishes served over the decades. Rooted in a love of fresh, seasonal ingredients and simple, confident cooking, this four-course menu reflects an approach to food that has always let the ingredients speak for themselves.

Think goat’s cheese and thyme soufflé, first featured in Rick’s Cornwall series, Cornish lamb from Philip Warren served pink with peas and wild garlic, and lemon sole dressed in shrimp and brown butter. Finish with a creamy vanilla rice pudding, brûléed on top and served with Szechuan-spiced pineapple, rounding things off with a nostalgic twist.

With a choice for each course and stories behind every plate, it’s a menu that’s best enjoyed with others, reminiscing, comparing and raising a glass to the simple pleasure of good food.

Four courses | £65 | Evening only
